Stock fit, length of pull, comb height, balance, grip angle, and control reach matter more than many catalog specifications.

Safety and law first: Verify local laws, use a safe direction, keep the action open when appropriate, and consult the manufacturer’s manual or a qualified professional when uncertain.

Length of pull

Length of pull affects shoulder placement, trigger reach, and head position. Clothing and shooting position can change what feels right.

Comb height

Your eye should align naturally with the sights or optic without excessive head movement.

Balance and weight

A light rifle carries easily but may feel less steady. A heavier rifle may be stable but tiring in the field.

Control reach

Safety, bolt, lever, charging handle, magazine release, and trigger should be accessible without awkward strain.
